The Road to Fitness

Today my daughter and I joined a local Fitness Center for women. WE are so excited about learning to use this system and getting started on loosing weight!
I am going to be working out as much as I possibly can in the next few months and I am going to loose down to my goal weight! I am so ready to not be fat anymore!

I will be blogging my progress. So my challenge to you as my reader is to get ready to get fit! I would love to have some of you who are ready to make a change. I will be 30 on November 12, 2007 I have until then to reach my goal weight of 160lbs. I would like to hear from anyone who wants to reach a similar goal. Not so much in weight but in fitness in general. I know that this will not always be easy but I will commit to being your cheer leader and I would also incourage you to join a fitness center in your area and take advantage of what they have to offer.
Good luck to you and may God be with you!

Here's to getting Fit!

The Struggle

I have struggled since my teens with my weight. I have always been a bit bigger. I had to have breast reduction surgery at 16 and that seemed to spiral into an expansion of my waistline. Before the surgery I only weighed about 160 so I was only about 20lbs over weight.
By 19 I was a size 18/19 and weighed about 195. Well then I met my husband and he wanted me to quit smoking. I was dancing at the bar on a regular basis and he didn't go out so I quit dancing and smoking and I started packing on the pounds. Over the next 8 years I gained almost 100 pounds.
Now I am aproaching 30 and HAVE to do something to loose weight!
I refuse to turn 30 and be FAT! I have never been unhappy with my self. I have always been able to accept and love myself until recently. Suddenly I have been feeling down and depressed about how I look and I find my self wanting to eat because I'm bored. THAT IS NOT ME!
So I'm going to practice what I preach to my daughter...." If you don't like the way you look, do something to change it!"
" If you don't like being fat loose weight! "
So I am! I have been looking at Fitness centers that cater to women only because I am a married woman who doesn't want to be looked down upon because I go to a gymn to work out. Men have a tendancy to look at plus sized women with disgust when they go to a gymn!
That is so RUDE! I thought the whole point in a Gymn was to HELP people loose weight and learn how to have a better body. They aren't just for those muscle heads who like to watch themselves lift weights in the mirror!
Well my struggle will be with motivation. I know this is something I need to do for my health and for the health of my family. I also love to eat and that is where the struggle comes in at. I guess I am going to just have to give it to God and ask Him to help curb my cravings and help me become a healthier person.
Okay well I've got some kiddos to look after so i'll post later!
God Bless!

Life.......

Some days life sucks and some day's it is just great! I have come to learn in the last 10 years that not everything can go my way. I have learned that I can always use self improvement. God is teaching me that in order to improve myslef I have to surrender to Him and let Him improve me.
I cannot do it on my own.
My precious daughter came to me last night to tell me that a friend is ill. She is very worried and I just had to say a silent prayer for guidance. I wanted to be able to give her words of wisdom and comfort as well and encourage her to be a prayer warrior for this friend. I am asking anyone who reads this to pray for this girl...I can not name her name at this time but I ask that you pray for the lovely thing!

Elise was quite upset and worried about this friend.
Well I guess I'm off to bed I need to get some sleep before tomorrow!

I Can You Can Too!

^ that is the title of the book I'm reading by Mamie McCullough. It is a wonderful book so far I'm about 1/3rd of the way through. She teaches women and me alike how to believe in yourself enough to accomplish whatever goals you have set for yourself.

So far she has taught me to bee myself, bee a self- starter, bee a responder, and bee a goal setter. She uses the Bee as her "mascot" if you will.
Mamie is a Christian and a woman who even though got a rough start in life has worked hard and learned how to perservere!
I recomend this book to everyone!
It is available from publisher Honor Books, Inc. Right here in Tulsa.
here is the address so if you would like to find a place close to you to purchase the book or maybe order it directly from the publisher.

Big Day Today!

Well today we are going to a big meeting for my company. I am excited because it will give us the chance to meet more people from our company. We will be spending most of the day there and I think it will be fun.

Then tonight we have our monthly Sunday school class fellowship. Each month a different couple hosts it on the second Saturday of the month. We hosted at Christmas and won't host again until June so it works out pretty well.
Most everyone participates and we even have some that will come to the gatherings but not to class.
I guess you could call that my pet peve! I don't think that you should come eat the food we all work so hard to prepare for the people who make the effort to be a part of our group if you are not going to be a Part of our group!

After all this is a fellowship and we are trying to build relationships with the people we see every week at Chruch. Come to Church and then come to the fellowships. Contribute to the meals that we have and get to know those of us who make an effort to serve our fellow class members. Then of course there are those who seem to be avoiding the functions all together! I'll save that for another time.

Okay I guess I should dismount my soapbox now. I just can't seem to figure some people out.

So, yesterday I baked a couple dozen brownies for the fellowship and then between our confrence and leaving for our fellowship I will cook some veggies. I love to cook and I hope everyone likes my special recipe brownies!
Well I better get off here and get in the shower. I still haven't decided what to ware and I have got to get that figured out!

Hope you have a good weekend and may God Bless you!
