Part of the Process

Well apparently it is part of the process to feel like an emotional blob!
I have been reading "Adoption Is A Family Affair! What Relatives and Friends Must Know" {again}. It really gives insight to the things that hopeful adoptive parents and their achildren go through!

A small Exerpt:
"The unique concept of bringing together the needs and the desires of two sets of parents (most often previously unknown to one another) on behalf of the greater needs of a child is a huge task. no matter whether the birth and adoptive parents will meet one another forge an ongoing relationship or they will choose confidentiality, a great deal of very intimate information will change hands. Far more oftern than not adoption parents will have access to significant medical and social information about their child. They may learn details about family background or social history. They may have access to information about the birthfamily's medical history and mental health problems and learning disabilities. The story occasionally includes difficult details about rape, or incest, or infidelity, or imprisonment, or substance abuse.
This is very private stuff ."

I think I will be posting some exerpts from this book on occasion for all to learn more. After my goal is to educate the Adoption is NOT Second rate!
