Not Just another Monday

Today we had another funeral to go to.A close friend of the family's (Tammy) mother passed away and we (my grandmother and I) drove to Adair, Ok. to attend the service. Tammy is a wonderful woman and bakes the most delicious cakes! She is a gem. We were sad to see her mother pass but we know she is with Jesus and we'll see her again some day when Jesus comes again!

Okay so it is getting closer and closer to October and I have the time to tell you about this adoption process. So far we have filled out all our applications and given references. Our references's will receive a letter from DHS (department of human services) asking themto tell a little about us. We have to go get finger printed for our FBI background check because we have not lived in Oklahoma for 10 years in a row. We have given consent for a criminal background search and they will check to see if either of us are listed as sex offenders or have ever been reported for child abuse or neglect.
Since we have done all of this before I know we are clean and it won't take long for everything to come back.
Then we have to get our physicals to show that we are not dying or have any desies that we can pass on to a child.
We begin our Adoptive parenting classes on October 7th at 10 am and we will attend them each Saturday in Tulsa through November 4th.
We then WAIT!!
THE HARDEST PART OF THE JOURNEY IS THE WAIT!
We are looking forward to growing our family. Holly is ready to be a big sister and I am sooo glad!
I start a part time position as our Church seceretary on Oct. 2nd, I am excited about that too!

I love serving my Jesus and I know that some day He will bless us for our faithfulness. God blesses us all the time though. I mean we have so many loving and caring friends! I really am thankful for each one of you.
Please keep reading we will be glad to share our journey through adoption with you!

God Bless you and Keep you!
~G~
