Sitting here tonight I am reminded all I have to be thankful for. I have an amazing husband, a good Christian family and my very best friend whom I've had for 25 years is still the best friend in the world.
I have had people come and go from my life and I have been sad or hurt or even felt nothing in some cases. In my 32 years I've had abuse, heartbreak, heartache, love, laughter, delight, joy and Jesus! Because I've had Jesus I have been able to endure the heartache, heartbreak and abuse. Because of Jesus I have been able to endure betrayal, divorce, drug use, poverty, homelessness and many other things.
If I had not grown up with loving Christian grandparents who prayed for me and with me and made sure I knew what the love of Jesus was, I don't think I would have lived to be 32. My mother worked hard and she was never afraid to let us see her cry, read her bible or pray. I always new my mom was a christian however she too stumbled in her walk like I did.
As I have gotten older I have grown to appreciate my mother much more.
I thank My Father in Heaven everyday for my loving family! For a mom who worked harder than most to provide for her 4 children. She never turned away a wayward teen and even when my friends were devious and mischevious she still gave refuge and allowed us to be teen misfits.
I thank God for my husband, he married me knowing I had a background of sexual, emotional and physical abuse. He knew I made a mistake and married at 17 and divorced by 19. He knew I was not the best house keeper and that I hate to do laundry. We have now been married 11 years and we are stronger than ever.
